Add payment methods

Enhance your customers' payment experience by offering them a variety of payment methods.

What you need to do in advance

Ensure that the payment methods that you want to offer are activated in the Mollie Dashboard.

Important

Some payment methods require Mollie's approval before they're available in your Mollie Dashboard. If your account has been approved but payment methods are still missing from your dashboard, contact support.

Add payment methods

To add payment methods to your checkout, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to Lightspeed eCom.
  2. Go to Apps > Purchased apps.
  3. Expand Mollie for Lightspeed eCom and select Go to app to open the General settings page.
  4. Select Payment methods settings in the left navigation menu.
  5. Switch on the toggle icon next to the payment methods that you want to add to your checkout.

Tip

To remove unwanted payment methods from your checkout, switch off the toggle icon.

Customize your checkout

Improve the user experience of your Lightspeed checkout and maintain its brand consistency by customizing the payment method logos and which payment methods are displayed.

Note

In Lightspeed eCom, you can configure each payment method per billing country. You can also configure default settings. If there is no configuration for a specific country, the default settings apply.

Change payment method logos

Change payment method logos to match your checkout branding.

  1. Log in to Lightspeed eCom.
  2. Go to Apps > Purchased apps.
  3. Expand Mollie for Lightspeed eCom and select Go to app to open the General settings page.
  4. Select Payment methods settings in the left navigation menu.
  5. Select the context for which you want to change the settings for the payment method from the drop-down menu:
    • Default settings: Configure the default settings.
    • [country]: Configure the settings for a specific country.
  6. Select Manage settings next to the payment method that you want to configure.
  7. To upload an image, drag-and-drop the image file into the Payment method logo field, or select Browse to select a file.
  8. Save the changes.

Hide payment methods based on order amount limits

Set an upper order amount limit to encourage the use of other payment methods for larger orders so that you can benefit from lower transaction fees, faster processing times, or enhanced fraud protection.

Set a lower limit to hide more expensive payment methods for smaller orders and streamline the checkout process for customers.

  1. Log in to Lightspeed eCom.
  2. Go to Apps > Purchased apps.
  3. Expand Mollie for Lightspeed eCom and select Go to app to open the General settings page.
  4. Select Payment methods settings in the left navigation menu.
  5. Select the context for which you want to change the settings for the payment method from the drop-down menu:
    • Default settings: Configure the default settings.
    • [country]: Configure the settings for a specific country.
  6. Select Manage settings next to the payment method that you want to configure.
  7. Enter the minimum and maximum values in the Min/max checkout value input fields.
  8. Save the changes.

Localize your checkout

Localize payment method names, the methods displayed in each country, and their order to cater to local preferences.

Change payment method names

  1. Log in to Lightspeed eCom.
  2. Go to Apps > Purchased apps.
  3. Expand Mollie for Lightspeed eCom and select Go to app to open the General settings page.
  4. Select Payment methods settings in the left navigation menu.
  5. Select the context for which you want to change the settings for the payment method from the drop-down menu:
    • Default settings: Configure the default settings.
    • [country]: Configure the settings for a specific country.
  6. Select Manage settings next to the payment method that you want to configure.
  7. Enter a name in the Name payment method input field.
  8. Save the changes.

Rearrange the payment method display order

Prioritize your customers' preferred payment options by placing them at the top of the list.

Create a default display order

  1. Log in to Lightspeed eCom.
  2. Go to Apps > Purchased apps.
  3. Expand Mollie for Lightspeed eCom and select Go to app to open the General settings page.
  4. Select Payment methods settings in the left navigation menu.
  5. Select Arrange payment methods and drag-and-drop the payment methods in your desired order.

Create a display order by country

  1. Log in to Lightspeed eCom.
  2. Go to Apps > Purchased apps.
  3. Expand Mollie for Lightspeed eCom and select Go to app to open the General settings page.
  4. Select Payment methods settings in the left navigation menu.
  5. Select the relevant country from the drop-down menu.
    • To remove the selected country, select -.
    • To add a new country to the list, select +.
  6. Select Arrange payment methods and drag-and-drop the payment methods in your preferred order.
