PrestaShop: Set up payment options
Add Apple Pay, set up credit/debit cards and add a payment surcharge.
Increase conversion by offering an express payment option with enhanced security that reduces cart abandonment by speeding up checkout, and that gives you access to a global market.
Display the Apple Pay button
Display the Apple Pay button on your cart, checkout, and product pages.
- Log in to PrestaShop.
- In the left navigation menu, select Mollie > Settings.
- Scroll down to Payment methods.
- Select Apple Pay to open its settings.
- If Apple Pay is switched off, select Yes from the drop-down menu next to Enabled.
- The Apple Pay Direct settings appear.
- Select Yes from the drop-down menu next to Apple Pay Direct .
- Choose your preferred button style from the available options.
- Save the changes.
Set up credit/debit cards
What you need to do in advance
- Add credit/debit cards to your checkout.
Enable Mollie Components
- Log in to PrestaShop.
- In the left navigation menu, select Mollie > Settings.
- Switch on the Use Mollie Components for credit cards toggle.
- Save the changes.
Enable one-click payments
- Log in to PrestaShop.
- In the left navigation menu, select Mollie > Settings.
- Switch on the Use single-click payments for credit cards toggle.
- Save the changes.
Change the generic credit/debit cards logo
You can change the generic logo displayed for credit/debit cards in your checkout so that it matches your branding.
- Log in to PrestaShop.
- In the left navigation menu, select Mollie > Settings.
- Scroll down to Payment methods.
- Select Credit/debit card.
- Select Yes, upload custom logo from the Use custom logo drop-down menu.
- Select Add file to upload a file from your device.
- Save the changes.
Add a payment surcharge
Offset any additional costs or fees associated with processing a payment method by adding a payment surcharge.
Note
Check your local legislation before adding a payment surcharge.
Add a fixed surcharge
Add a fixed surcharge for larger orders, where a percentage-based surcharge may become disproportionately high.
- Log in to PrestaShop.
- In the left navigation menu, select Mollie > Settings.
- Scroll down to Payment methods.
- Select a payment method to expand it.
- Select Fixed fee from the Payment fee drop-down menu.
- Enter the surcharge including VAT in the Fixed fee (tax incl) field.
- The surcharge excluding VAT will be automatically calculated and displayed in the Fixed fee (tax excl) field based on the value you select from the Tax rules group for fee drop-down menu.
- Save the changes.
Add a percentage-based surcharge
Add a percentage surcharge for smaller orders, where a fixed surcharge may be relatively high.
- Log in to PrestaShop.
- In the left navigation menu, select Mollie > Settings.
- Scroll down to Payment methods.
- Select a payment method to expand it.
- Select Percentage from the Payment fee drop-down menu.
- Select the VAT rate to be applied to the surcharge from the Tax rules group for fee drop-down menu.
- Enter the surcharge in the Percentage fee field.
- Optional: Enter a fixed amount for the maximum surcharge in the Maximum fee field.
- Save the changes.
Add a combined surcharge
Add a combination of both fixed and percentage-based surcharges to cover the fixed costs associated with payment processing as well as a proportionate surcharge based on the order value.
- Log in to PrestaShop.
- In the left navigation menu, select Mollie > Settings.
- Scroll down to Payment methods.
- Select a payment method to expand it.
- Select Combined payment surcharge limit from the Payment fee drop-down menu.
- Enter the surcharge including VAT in the Fixed fee (tax incl) field.
The surcharge excluding VAT will be automatically calculated and displayed in the Fixed fee (tax excl) field based on the value you select from the Tax rules group for fee drop-down menu. - Select the VAT rate to be applied to the surcharge from the Tax rules group for fee drop-down menu.
- Enter the surcharge in the Percentage fee field.
- Optional: Enter a fixed amount for the maximum surcharge in the Maximum fee field.
- Save the changes.
