Add payment methods

Enhance your customers' payment experience by offering them a variety of payment methods.

What you need to do in advance

Ensure that the payment methods that you want to offer are activated in the Mollie Dashboard.

Important

Some payment methods require Mollie's approval before they're available in your Mollie Dashboard. If your account has been approved but payment methods are still missing from your dashboard, contact support.

Add payment methods

To add payment methods to your checkout, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to Salesforce Commerce Cloud Business Manager.
  2. Open Select a site, and select a site from the list.
  3. Go to Merchant Tools > Ordering > Payment methods.
  4. Select Yes from the drop-down menu of the payment method's Enabled column.
  5. Select Apply.

📘

Tip

To remove unwanted payment methods select No from the drop-down menu of the Enabled column.

You can also select the Remove button to remove the payment method from your checkout. If you do so and later want to re-add it, you'll have to reimport the Mollie metadata.

Customize your checkout

Improve the user experience of your Salesforce Commerce Cloud checkout and maintain its brand consistency by customizing the payment method descriptions and their visibility.

Change payment method descriptions

Add payment method descriptions to each method in your checkout.

  1. Log in to Salesforce Commerce Cloud Business Manager.
  2. Open Select a site, and select a site from the list.
  3. Go to Merchant Tools > Ordering > Payment methods.
  4. Select the payment method's ID.
  5. Add a description to the Description field.
  6. Select Apply.

Display payment methods by customer group

Customize the payment methods displayed for each customer group to show the most relevant options in the checkout. For instance, B2C customers may see credit/debit cards, while B2B customers may see bank transfers.

  1. Log in to Salesforce Commerce Cloud Business Manager.
  2. Open Select a site, and select a site from the list.
  3. Go to Merchant Tools > Ordering > Payment methods.
  4. Select the payment method's ID.
  5. Next to Customer groups, select Edit.
  6. Select the customer groups and select Assign.
  7. Select Apply.

Hide payment methods based on order amount limits

Set an upper order amount limit to encourage the use of specific payment methods for larger orders so that you can benefit from lower transaction fees, faster processing times, or enhanced fraud protection.

Set a lower limit to hide more expensive payment methods for smaller orders and streamline the checkout process for customers.

  1. Log in to Salesforce Commerce Cloud Business Manager.
  2. Open Select a site, and select a site from the list.
  3. Go to Merchant Tools > Ordering > Payment methods.
  4. Select the payment method's ID.
  5. Scroll down to the Mollie settings.
  6. Enter the respective order amounts in the Min/Max Payment Ranges field.
  7. Select Apply.

Localize your checkout

Localize payment method names, methods displayed in each country, and the order in which they are displayed to cater to local preferences.

Change payment method names

  1. Log in to Salesforce Commerce Cloud Business Manager.
  2. Open Select a site, and select a site from the list.
  3. Go to Merchant Tools > Ordering > Payment methods.
  4. Select the payment method's name and enter a different value.
  5. Select Apply.

Display payment methods per currency

You can show different payment methods for each currency, so that you can leverage the most favorable currency conversion rates.

Note

If you display a payment method for a currency that Mollie does not support, payment in that currency will fail and the failure will be logged. For a list of the currencies that Mollie supports, see Mollie Multicurrency.

  1. Log in to Salesforce Commerce Cloud Business Manager.
  2. Open Select a site, and select a site from the list.
  3. Go to Merchant Tools > Ordering > Payment methods.
  4. Select the payment method's ID.
  5. Next to Currencies, select Edit.
  6. Select the currencies and select Assign.
  7. Select Apply.

Display different payment methods in each country

Display selected payment methods for each country, allowing customers to see local payment options when checking out.

  1. Log in to Salesforce Commerce Cloud Business Manager.
  2. Open Select a site, and select a site from the list.
  3. Go to Merchant Tools > Ordering > Payment methods.
  4. Select the payment method's ID.
  5. Next to Countries, select Edit.
  6. Select the countries and select Assign.
  7. Select Apply.

Rearrange the payment method display order

Prioritize your customers' preferred payment options by placing them at the top of the list.

  1. Log in to Salesforce Commerce Cloud Business Manager.
  2. Open Select a site, and select a site from the list.
  3. Go to Merchant Tools > Ordering > Payment methods.
  4. Select Sort order.
  5. Drag the payment methods to sort them.
  6. Select Sort order.
  7. Select Apply.
