In-person: Vouchers

You must have a contract with the voucher distributor before you can activate this payment method in your Mollie account.

Customers in Belgium and France can use meal, eco, sport, culture or gift vouchers to pay for their purchases both online and in-person.

Activating Vouchers as a payment method

What you need to know in advance

  • Make sure you have an account with the respective voucher providers.
  • It is recommended that you create one profile per store location in your Web App. This helps streamline the visibility and management of both your businesses and separate devices.
  • Take the details available in your Mollie Web App and submit to the voucher provider during the onboarding.

Once the vouchers are activated, you can start accepting them with your terminal(s).

Setting up a contract

Your business must be based and registered in Belgium or France to accept vouchers as a payment method. You must also create an account with one of the following voucher suppliers: Pluxee, Edenred or Monizze. Once you create an account with the voucher supplier, you’ll receive a contract ID. Your future voucher balance payouts will come from the voucher issuer.

Getting started (to add all screenshots)

  1. In your Mollie Web App, click your Organization name in the top right corner.
  2. Go to Organization > Settings > Profiles > Online Payments > Add Profiles.
  3. You will see a page with tiles for all available payment methods.
  4. Select the Voucher service provider you’d like to activate and click the blue (+) sign.
  5. Enter the Contract ID you got from the voucher provider.
  6. Then, add your preferred voucher types.

We will check your registration with the voucher supplier and activate them for your Mollie account if everything is set up correctly. This can take up to 7 business days.

Activating Vouchers for your Mollie Terminal

In Belgium, terminals commonly accept various voucher types, including Meal, Gift, Eco, Sports & Culture.
By activating vouchers, you can accept payments from Belgian providers for eligible products using the following main voucher providers: Edenred, Monizze and Pluxee.

To activate Vouchers for your terminal, follow the instructions below:

  1. In your Mollie Web App, navigate to the Organization Settings > select the In-Person Payments tab.

Make sure you have Point of Sale enabled in your Profile Settings. You need to follow these steps per profile created for POS via the upper right corner.

  1. In the Vouchers section, click Activate.

Edenred

To start accepting Edenred vouchers with your terminals, you also need to complete configuration with the voucher providers directly.

To do so, open your Mollie Web App and go to POS Settings > click Edenred, follow the instructions listed and click Activate.

Monizze

Monizze currently only supports gift, eco and meal vouchers online and in-person.

To start accepting Monizze vouchers, you need to complete their suggested configuration:

Open your Mollie Web App and go to POS Settings > click Monizze, follow the instructions listed and click Activate.

Pluxee

To start accepting Pluxee vouchers, follow the steps below:

Open your Mollie Web App and go to POS Settings > click Monizze, follow the instructions listed and click Activate.

Accepting Vouchers with your Mollie Terminal

Mollie customers can accept voucher payments in different ways. The most common way is to initiate voucher payments via the integrated POS system.
Alternatively, for merchants who do not use a POS system, payments can be initiated directly via Mollie Web App.

Accept Vouchers via POS System

For payment creation using your specific POS system, follow the steps advised by your selected software provider.

Accept Vouchers via Mollie Web App

Creating a voucher payment from the Web App enables also non-integrated merchants to accept voucher payments. To create one follow these steps:

  1. Select Point-of-Sale under the Products section on the left-hand bar in the Web App.
  2. Select Create Payment in the top right corner .
  3. Fill in the details such as terminal, profile, amount and more
  4. In the payment method selector pick Voucher and select a voucher category (eco, meal, gift, sport or culture).
  5. Click Create Payment for the Voucher payment to be sent to the terminal so your customer can complete it.
