Lightspeed: Set up payment options

Set up credit/debit cards and add a payment surcharge.

Increase conversion by offering an express payment option with enhanced security that reduces cart abandonment by speeding up checkout, and that gives you access to a global market.

What you need to do in advance

Enable Mollie Components

Mollie Components is incompatible with the latest version of the Lightspeed eCom checkout. For more information about the new checkout, consult Lightspeed eCom Support↗.

  1. Log in to Lightspeed eCom.
  2. Go to Apps > Purchased apps.
  3. Expand Mollie for Lightspeed eCom and select Go to app to open the General settings page.
  4. Select Payment methods settings in the left navigation menu.
  5. Select Default settings from the drop-down menu to enable Mollie Components in all countries, or select a specific country.
  6. Scroll to credit/debit card and select Manage settings.
  7. Switch on the Mollie Components toggle.
  8. Save the changes.

Enable one-click payments

Important

No sensitive credit/debit card details are stored in your Lightspeed eCom store. All credit/debit card data is securely stored on Mollie servers.

  1. Log in to Lightspeed eCom.
  2. Go to Apps > Purchased apps.
  3. Expand Mollie for Lightspeed eCom and select Go to app to open the General settings page.
  4. Select Payment methods settings in the left navigation menu.
  5. Select Default settings from the drop-down menu to enable one-click payments in all countries, or select a country.
  6. Scroll to credit/debit card and select Manage settings.
  7. Switch on the Single-click payments toggle.
  8. Save the changes.

Add a payment surcharge

Offset any additional costs or fees associated with processing a payment method by adding a payment surcharge.

Check your local legislation before adding a payment surcharge.

Add a fixed surcharge

  1. Log in to Lightspeed eCom.
  2. Go to Apps > Purchased apps.
  3. Expand Mollie for Lightspeed eCom and select Go to app to open the General settings page.
  4. Select Payment methods settings in the left navigation menu.
  5. Select the context for which you want to change the settings for the payment method from the drop-down menu:
    • Default settings: Configure the default settings.
    • [country]: Configure the settings for a specific country.
  6. Select Manage settings next to the payment method that you want to configure.
  7. Switch on the Apply a payment fee toggle.
  8. Enter the amount of the payment fee including VAT in the Fixed field.
  9. Enter the VAT percentage in the Payment fee VAT% field.
  10. Save the changes.
