Mollie Connect

Build payments and money management experiences for merchants with Mollie Connect.

Mollie Connect lets software platforms and marketplaces offer payments and money management to their merchants under their own brand.

Your merchants can create accounts, access finance, get paid online and in person, and manage their money without leaving your product.

Mollie handles the regulated parts: licensing, compliance, identity checks, and risk. This lets you offer these services without becoming a payments institution, and you earn on the payment volume you enable.

These guides are written for developers, product managers, solution architects, and technical teams building on Mollie Connect. You should be familiar with REST APIs and the basics of OAuth. If you are evaluating Connect from a business perspective, start with the Mollie Connect product page.

Choose how deep to integrate: hosted flows on Mollie, embedded components in your product, or API-driven workflows from your backend. Onboarding can be co-branded or embedded in your experience.

Connect merchants with OAuth, onboard them with Client Links, and let Mollie handle payment processing, regulatory compliance, and settlement while you focus on growing your business.

Online and in-person payments and onboarding are available across Europe. Business accounts and growth capital are rolling out by market. Contact your partner manager to check current availability for your markets.

Three questions decide it:

  • Whose name should appear on the shopper's bank statement?
  • Who will handle payment support, refunds, and disputes?
  • Do your merchants need to accept payments from multiple sellers in one checkout?

If your merchants accept payments under their own name and own the day-to-day disputes, choose Connect for Platforms. If your platform owns the payment and distributes funds to sellers, choose Connect for Marketplaces.

Connect for Platforms

Connect for Platforms is for SaaS businesses where each merchant runs their own payment operation. Your merchants accept online and in-person payments under their own name and handle their own refunds and disputes, while you earn on every transaction through application fees or resell pricing. Mollie verifies your merchants, manages risk, and provides loss protection for losses a merchant cannot cover, so a merchant's failure is not yours to absorb.

Connect for Marketplaces

Connect for Marketplaces is for platforms that own the payment. You collect from the shopper once, online or in person, hold the funds in a compliant balance, route them to your sellers, and keep your commission as the portion you do not route. As the payment owner, you manage refunds and disputes on your payments, with Mollie's risk management and loss protection behind you. Mollie keeps you out of the regulatory money-flow burden that would otherwise require your own license.
