Mollie for Accounting Software
Connect your Mollie Business Account to an accounting software through Bizcuit to automatically sync your payment data and simplify bookkeeping.
We support all major bookkeeping software in the Netherlands, including Exact Online, Twinfield, Yuki, Moneybird, SnelStart, Minox and more.
What you need to do in advance
- Create a Mollie Business Account.
- Ensure that you have an active account in your accounting software with the necessary rights to establish connections with third parties.
- Have a bank account for your Mollie payments added and set up in your accounting software.
- Bizcuit connects to Mollie through OAuth. This means that you have to be able to log in to both your Mollie account and your accounting software before starting the connect procedure. If you are already logged in to an account, OAuth will automatically connect to that account.
Install and connect
This integration is powered by Bizcuit.
To enable the integration, in your Mollie Web App go to Settings โ Accounting and follow these steps:
Connect
- Select your accounting software and click Connect.
- Connect Mollie to Bizcuit and authorize the connection through the Mollie Web App.
- Choose the accounts you want to connect, remove any you do not want to sync and click Continue.
- Connect your accounting software by entering the credentials for the account you want to link.
- Authorize the connection request.
- Link Mollie to your accounting software and click Continue.
Once done, the transactions from today will be synced with your accounting software within seconds. All new transactions will appear in your bank feed every 30 minutes.
Manage your Connection
You can update your accounting connection settings anytime from your Mollie Web App.
Go to Settings โ Accounting, and click Manage. From there, you can make changes that will take effect immediately.
Adding a new bank account
Before you start, ensure that your Mollie account is already added within your accounting platform.
- Go to Settings โ Accounting and click Manage.
- Click Selected bank accounts and connect your (new) desired accounts. Delete any you might not need.
- Click Continue.
- Link your accounts to an administration.
Deleting the connection
To remove the connection, in your Mollie Web App go to Settings โ Authorizations and revoke Bizcuitโs access.
Your account access is removed immediately, but it may take a short time for Bizcuit to drop the connection settings.
Troubleshooting common issues
Missing transaction history
If youโre not seeing transactions in your bookkeeping software, follow these steps to check your connection and settings:
- Verify your connection In your Mollie Web App, go to Settings โ Accounting, then click Manage. Make sure your accounting software is connected and that all bank accounts you coupled are listed and linked. Confirm that your bank account is also linked to the correct administration in your accounting software.
- Complete any unfinished setup steps If any steps of the steps is incomplete, finish the setup and review all connection settings to ensure everything is properly configured.
- Check your bank account setup Make sure the bank account of your choice is added and fully configured in your accounting software. Verify that it belongs to the correct administration.
- If youโre using email-based connections Check your spam folder to ensure that files sent to your accounting system havenโt been filtered out.
If everything looks correct but the transactions are still not listed as expected, please contact us at [email protected].
Missing a particular transaction
If a specific transaction hasnโt appeared in your accounting software, it may be due to its current status. Transactions are only sent to your accounting software once theyโve been booked by the bank and can no longer be changed. You might have to wait for it to be processed first before appearing in the transaction list.
Error connecting to the Accounting Software
If you donโt have the necessary permissions to set up third-party connections with your accounting software, you may encounter an error during the connection process.
Your bookkeeper or another authorized person in your company should have the necessary permissions to establish the connection. You can ask them to grant you with the correct permissions or invite them (by email) to complete it on your behalf:
- Go back to the screen where you selected your accounting software and select it again.
- In the Connect accounting system step, choose No, my bookkeeper helps me.
- Create a connection request for your bookkeeper: they will receive an email inviting them to connect the accounting software. They do not need their own Mollie account to complete this step.
Once the connection is successfully established, youโll receive a confirmation email.
Choose No, my bookkeeper helps me even if youโre completing the setup together or on the same device. Using a connection request ensures that your bookkeeper can manage connections securely and conveniently both for you and other clients. Important: donโt open the connection request link on the same device and browser from which you sent it. Doing so may mix up your steps and credentials, causing connection issues.
Accounting Software not on the list
To deliver transactions to accounting systems that donโt yet support a direct integration, you can select the option Boekhoudpakket algemeen.
This option allows you to schedule regular exports of your bank transactions, which can be sent to your accountantโs email or saved in a secure Dropbox folder in your preferred format.
Most accounting systems support the CAMT format for bank transaction exports. Systems that donโt support CAMT typically work with the MT940 format.
If you plan to analyze transactions or process them in Excel, choose the CSV format.
